The British Government is a fucking disgrace, theres no other way to say it.

British soldiers are the best in the world, and thats not an over exageration. They train hard and take their jobs seriously, they manage to overcome not only the conditions they face in the field, but an unbelievable lack of support from a government that repeatedly sends them into harms way, with sub standard equipment.

25 years ago, we were buying our own gear because the stuff we were issued was crap and here we are in 2006, whats changed?… nothing, nothing at all. Why are soldiers who recieve a pitifull wage constantly putting their hands in their own pockets to buy the gear they need to do their jobs? Why? I am ashamed to be British, our government promotes questionable policies to dish out money left and right to people who quite honestly dont deserve it, whilst the only generation of people in recent history who actually sacrificed something in our counties past, service members from the WWII generation are kicked out of nursing homes, and the current generation of soldiers are left with their asses hanging out in places that these despicable government officials would never dream of setting foot.

Our government has sent servicemen to Afghanistan once again, so far 6 have been killed in a month, they cannot be resupplied because the vehicles they have deployed with have no armour so they cannot move for the fear of roadside IED’s. They are fighting in 50 degree heat and are running out of water, the little they have is being rationed. If it was so staggeringly pittiful it would be funny, but my sense of humour with these retarded, overpaid fucking idiots has run out.

You are a disgrace, from top to bottom our government is a mess. Continue focusing on whats important Tony… doleing money to the hands out does fuck all generation and minority causes that have done nothing to support our once great country. You and they are just parasites, sucking the life out of a country that is a shadow of its former self and very soon may exist in name only.

The complicity of this ‘news’ organization in delivering Al Qaeda propoganda makes me sick.

How long have they had this video of the London bomber? If they received it in the last 24 hours… did it really have to be released to coincide with the 1st anniversary of the London terror attacks? It could have been held back a further 24 hours to dampen the effect of it being released exactly on this date.

Of course it had to be released now… because the senior management of Al Jazeera, although they deny it to high heavens, support Al Qaeda’s doctrine.

You people disgust me. I thought that ‘moderate and responsible muslims’ were going to present their impressionable youth with an example worth following, an alternative to a path of violence… Is this it ?

I believe the answer to that question is something of a paradox…

Survival of the species… is the only possible answer… we are not mature enough to find another way.

The potential for the human race to be wiped out by a natural event which affects every person on the planet is our only hope for survival… perhaps an asteroid, something the size of manhattan or there about. 

This ‘opportunity’ would place our existence and petty squabbling into perspective, reinforce just how vulnerable we actually are to forces outisde of our control, and provide us with an opportunity (however much we dislike each other) to drop our guard, our pre-conceived ideas, and work together in an effort to preserve our species and this small planet we ALL call home….

The  alternative is that we carry on along this path of self destruction until we reach a critical mass from which there is no return.

On a number of occasions I have witnessed first hand, how quickly and absolutely the very thin veneer of civility evaporates when order breaks down. It only serves to remind me how very low down the evolutionary ladder we still are.

A double-amputee Iraq-war vet is suing Michael Moore for $85 million, claiming the portly peacenik recycled an old interview and used it out of context to make him appear anti-war in “Fahrenheit 9/11.”

Sgt. Peter Damon, 33, who strongly supports America’s invasion of Iraq, said he never agreed to be in the 2004 movie, which trashes President Bush.

In the 2003 interview, which he did at Walter Reed Army Hospital for NBC News, he discussed only a new painkiller the military was using on wounded vets.

“They took the clip because it was a gut-wrenching scene,” Damon said yesterday. “They sandwiched it in. [Moore] was using me as ammunition.”

Damon seems to “voice complaint about the war effort” in the movie, according to the lawsuit.

But what the father of two from Middleborough, Mass., was really talking about was the “excruciating” pain he felt after he lost his arms when a Black Hawk helicopter exploded in front of him.

Damon wasn’t expressing any opinion about the war, the suit charges, but rather extolling the drug.

“I just want everybody to know what kind of a guy Michael Moore is, and what kind of film this is,” said Damon. He has appeared in two films attacking “Fahrenheit” -”Michael Moore Hates America” and “Fahrenhype 9/11.”

In “Fahrenheit 9/11,” the bandaged National Guardsman is shown laying on a gurney complaining that he feels like he’s “being crushed in a vise. But they [the drugs] do a lot to help it and they take a lot of the edge off it.”

His image appears seconds after Rep. Jim McDermott (D-Wash.) says, “You know, they say they’re not leaving any veterans behind, but they’re leaving all kinds of veterans behind.”

Damon – the dad of a 8-year-old girl and 4-year-old boy – doesn’t come close to feeling that way.

“He couldn’t have picked the worst guy to say that about,” he told The Post.

“I’m the most fortunate disabled guy. I’ve even had a house built for me [by a nonprofit group, Home for Our Troops].”

Particularly outrageous to Damon is the fact that Moore never interviewed him or asked his permission to use the old clip.

“I was complaining about the pain I would’ve been having [if it weren't for the painkiller],” he said.

NBC is named in the suit – which was filed in Suffolk County, Mass., on Friday – along with Harvey and Robert Weinstein, Miramax Corp., Lions Gate Films and other production companies involved with the picture.

Newsman Brian Williams ends the NBC clip by adding, “These men, with catastrophic wounds are . . . completely behind the war effort,” according to the lawsuit.

That part, which wasn’t shown in the Moore movie, is a far more accurate depiction of Damon’s feelings, he said.

Lawyer Dennis Lynch said he took the case last year and they held off filing the lawsuit in a bid to settle the matter.

“We attempted to resolve the situation amicably with Mr. Moore [for a year] but he refused,” he said.

Damon is asking for up to $75 million because of “loss of reputation, emotional distress, embarrassment, and personal humiliation.”

In addition, his wife is suing for another $10 million because of the “mental distress and anguish suffered by her spouse.”

Spokeswomen for NBC and Harvey and Robert Weinstein would not comment because they haven’t seen the suit. Lions Gate doesn’t comment on pending litigation, a rep said.

Michael Moore and Miramax reps didn’t return calls for comment.

Suprised? not really… I’m not going to wail on about how to fix the problem, I would just suggest that the lads sack the nervousness, have a bit of fun and attack more.

The entire competition has been particulalry unimpressive for me this year. One of my friends in upstate New York wrote to me a few days ago, ‘I’m the coach of my daughters soccer team now, so I’ve been watching a lot of the World Cup games, I’m trying to figure out exactly how the off side rule works and why these guys spend so much time rolling around on the floor when they’ve hardly been tackled.’… Yeah, me too mate.

I think it makes the whole competition look quite ridiculous to be honest. At this level, how can the blowhards at FIFA still not adopt an instant replay to assist the ref to make a decision when so much is riding on it.
An instant reply that reveals the amount of contact that actually takes place, would also encourage some of these guys to stop trying to take advantage of the blind side and just play the godamn game.

I know everybody has an opinion regarding the situation out there. If you would like to pose any specific questions about my experience, feel free.

This particular parent cited his sons regular attendance at church and catholic school education as the reason he was so shocked at the accusatiion of his sons activities.

Maybe those are the very reasons he turned out to be such an upstanding member of society after all….

In the interest of full disclosure. I deployed to Iraq in November 2003 in support of the U.S. military, working as a security consultant on a DoD contract. I quit working in Iraq January 2006, a total of 2 years and 2 months in theatre.

Debate the morality of the action until the cows come home, the fact is the U.S. went to war in Iraq and dragged a lot of other countries along for the ride. I find it less than suprising that given the lack of public support (only natural when rank and file civilians, who have nothing better to do than watch reality TV shows, start to see the real effects of war – limbless young men returning to the U.S.) these Democrats choose to exploit that sentiment to their benefit.

I'm sure Bush is also anxious to withdraw troops as quickly as possible, but telegraphing a time line is not the way to do it. Trumpet the newly formed Iraqi government all you want, but I have driven the length and breadth of Iraq in the past couple of years, met, spoken, shared meals and worked with many regular Iraqi people, and my opinion is that this fledgling Iraqi government and democracy is a house of cards.

It is disingenuous, again, for Democrats to suggest parrallels between Iraq and Vietnam. This IS winnable, but it will take a paradigm shift in the approach that has been used to date. I have been shot at more times by nervous Americans than insurgents (and I've been shot at a lot by insurgents…!), I dont really blame these young lads though, they are so light on the ground they cant possibly cover every angle at once…

You went there… support your troops, give them the tools and the manpower to do their job; bite the bullet and see this through, you now have a moral responsibility to stand your ground and leave the country a better place than when you arrived.

First of all I want to recognize that there are a significant number of scientists who agree that the global warming phenomenon is real, and that to some extent, human activity may be adding to it. Conversely there are scientists who do not agree with that argument.

I have sat on the huge boulders in Manhattan’s Central Park, and run my fingers along the striation marks made when these rocks were deposited by a massive glacier that covered Manhattan and most of N.America 10,000 years ago, and thought… ‘where did all the ice go?’

It is a fact that the earth goes through hot and cold environmental cycles… a fact ! Now 10,000 years may seem like a long time, but without the aid of a single SUV or coal burning power plant, the massive amount of Ice which covered much of the Northern hemisphere has disappeared, and I am fairly sure that sea levels have risen substantially as a result. This seems to have happened because the earth is at the end of its cold cycle and about to enter a hot one… quite simple really.

For Al Gore to sensationalize this issue and suggest not only that ‘we’ are responsible, but that if we act now we can stop this in the next 10 years is not just laughable but offensive.

An analogy of Gores actions would be that he has identified a killer disease that threatens global civilization, but not to worry, because thankfully he has a cure… and it’s only going to cost you $….?  That’s right, commercially Al Gore is setting himself up to fleece the people of this planet by providing green products aimed at reducing global warming. Tugging on the emotions and fears of people worldwide, they will spend millions in a futile attempt to stop something over which they have no power at all.

At the same time Al Gore continues to use a private jet and travel with his entourage in a fleet of SUV’s at the Canne film festival… I dont know if Al Gore still has political aspirations, his appearance on the My Space Web site, aimed at the youth of the U.S. and around the world may be politically motivated, or he may just be lining up the next generation of consumers to this long con. Seems that Al really believes the verbal garbage that he is laying on us.

I for one dont believe that we are responsible for this phenomenon, and am very suprised that so many people are buying into this. What’s your opinion?
